Kunwu KettleGalvanizing Kettles

How we build a galvanizing kettle

Four things are fixed before the kettle ever sees zinc, and none of them can be corrected afterwards. These pages are about those four.

Most kettle suppliers describe their product. We would rather describe the decisions, because the decisions are what you are actually buying — and because they are checkable.

Plate verification → cutting and bevelling → warm forming (850–900 °C) → fit-up → electroslag welding → stress relief → NDT → blast cleaning → painting → marking → despatch
01

Steel specification

Why silicon matters more than strength, and why there is no equivalent EN or ASTM grade for kettle plate.

02

Electroslag welding

ISO 4063 process 72. Full wall thickness in a single pass — and an honest note about what the process costs you.

03

Warm forming

All plate deformation at 850–900 °C. Cold bending locks stress into a vessel that will run at 450 °C for years.

Quality control and NDT

GB/T 11345-2023 is identical to ISO 17640:2018. Here is the full inspection and test plan, and the standards mapped onto references your inspectors know.

Documentation package

Five documents with every kettle. The fifth is the reason the other four matter.
